About KŌVA
KŌVA MMA & Fitness is a martial arts gym at 1055 S Sherman St, Ste 104, Richardson, TX 75081. We opened in January 2026 and teach NoGi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing and MMA to adults, to kids aged 5 to 12, and to women in dedicated women-only classes.
That adds up to 19 classes a week: evenings Monday to Friday, and midday to mid-afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. You'll find us in the Spring Valley Business Center, two doors from Royal Roastery, with free parking in the lot out front.
Built for the person who has never walked into a fight gym
Fundamentals classes start from zero, class sizes are small enough that coaches know your name, and the training floor is ego-free: no hazing, no spar-or-leave culture, no intimidation at the door. Most of our members started with no experience. Nobody spars in a first class, and you work at your own pace from day one.
KŌVA is more than just a gym. It's a family to us. The club fosters an environment where people of all levels are encouraged to push themselves, improving their skills while forming lasting friendships and building a strong sense of camaraderie.
What makes us different
Walking into a martial arts gym for the first time is the hardest part. We built KŌVA so that first step feels easy.
Built for beginners
Never trained before? Most of our members hadn't either. Fundamentals classes start from zero. No experience, no gear, no pressure.
Coaches who know your name
Small class sizes and hands-on coaching. You're not a number on a card reader. You're part of the room.
Ego-free training floor

The people on the mats
KŌVA has 6 coaches, teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, MMA, the kids program and the women-only program. Class sizes are small and coaching is hands-on, and the schedule lists who is teaching every class, so you always know who you'll be working with before you walk in.
Meet the coachesYour first visit
Your first class is free in any adult or women's program, and there is no card to enter when you book. Bring comfortable athletic clothing and a water bottle; we have loaner gloves and shin guards for striking classes, and NoGi Jiu-Jitsu needs no uniform. You check in at the desk, meet your coach, warm up with the group, learn two or three techniques and drill them with a partner. Adult classes run 60 to 90 minutes.
Memberships are month to month with unlimited classes in your program: All Access covers every adult program, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing and MMA each run as their own membership, alongside the women-only and kids programs. There is no long-term contract; you can cancel with notice through the member portal.
