I've never trained before. Is that okay?
Yes. Most of our members started with no experience. Fundamentals classes are built for complete beginners, and coaches walk you through every technique step by step.
What should I bring?
Comfortable athletic clothing, a water bottle, and yourself. We have loaner gloves and shin guards for striking classes, and NoGi Jiu-Jitsu needs no uniform.
Do I need to be in shape first?
No. Training is how you get in shape. Classes scale to you; you work at your own pace and progress from there.
Can a beginner join the MMA class?
The MMA class is for members with at least six months of BJJ and striking. Beginners start in Boxing, Muay Thai or Jiu-Jitsu and move into MMA when a coach clears them.
What is NoGi Jiu-Jitsu?
Jiu-Jitsu trained in shorts and a rash guard instead of the kimono. Grips are on the body, not the cloth, so it is faster and transfers directly to MMA. KŌVA trains NoGi only.
Ready to start?
Your first class is free. Gloves and gear provided, no card, no contract, no obligation.
